Gratitude part 2..

I have been incredibly blessed to be surrounded by SO many amazing people. Friends. Family. And friends who God gave me as family. I'm thankful for them all. I am who I am today because of the way God used each of them in my life.

In the last few years the following people have been especially significant..they are definitely those that fall into the 'friends who God gave me as family' category. I've spent many a holiday and experienced numerous defining moments with them..so in no particular order, let me share a few of my most favorites with you..

The Ortiz family...I love them dearly. Their kids make me laugh. Their hearts inspire me. And we have supported one another through many different seasons. We've dreamed, struggled and celebrated a lot together. Some of my favorite memories, both entertaining and challenging involve them. It is hard not seeing them any time I want to, but God still uses them consistently in this often ridiculous adventure. They have carried my heart through so much.

The Haggards...they haven't been in my life quite as long as others, but their impact is no less significant. I so love them. They have shown up as family in so many moments when I needed just that. I admire their hearts for others and the love they constantly demonstrate. They have spoken so much life into me and over me. I am humbled to know and serve under them as they lead our church in this community.

The Geralds...little did I know how intricate of a part they would play in my life when I first met them or how different life would be because of this relationship. I learned what it was to serve in ministry by watching them demonstrate that in everything they did. They challenged me and continue to challenge me to never settle and support me in every step. It was an honor to serve with them in Texas and all the more so to serve alongside and under them here in Alaska. I describe them as my pastors, mentors, friends and family. I'm grateful for them and love them so very much.

This picture puts such a smile on my face. The Kendigs. So many memories and so much love I have for them. I remember first meeting them as youth in our youth group. Their wedding day. The day Tracy called to tell me she was pregnant with Micah. I've spent so many holidays with them and the rest of their family. They are servants. They love and give so much of themselves. It is an amazing thing knowing that anywhere that God sends us that we will continue to enjoy life together.

There is far more to say about all of these people. And there are others who have played a significant role. But this is just a snapshot of the remarkable people I get to enjoy life with...I can't imagine my life without them and will always feel humbled that God knitted my heart together with theirs for amazing purpose. When it comes down to it..life is all about relationships and I am so thankful today for those relationships God strategically gives me.
