Revelation

The song Revelation by Third Day has been playing on my Ipod alot lately....love it

My life has led me down the road that's so uncertain

Now I am left alone and I am broken
Trying to find my way
Trying to find the faith that's gone
This time I know that you are holding all the answers
I'm tired of losing hope and taking chances
On roads that never seem
To be the ones that bring me home
Give me a revelation
Show me what to do
'Cause I've been trying to find my way
I haven't got a clue
Tell me should I stay here
Or do I need to move
Give me a revelation
I've got nothing without you
I've got nothing without you
My life has led me down this path that's ever winding
Through every twist and turn, I'm always finding
That I am lost again
Tell me when this road will ever end

Give me a revelation
Show me what to do
'Cause I've been trying to find my way
I haven't got a clue
Tell me should I stay here
Or do I need to move
Give me a revelation
I've got nothing without you
I've got nothing without you

I don't know where I can turn
Tell me, when will I learn
Won't you show me where I need to go
Let me follow your lead
I know that it's the only way that I can get back home

Something about those words have always struck me...even before my serious contemplation of the steps to come...the message is so genuine though...I can be so uncertain or I could try to do it all the way I know how, and it still isn't what God has planned for me...what I need...is His revelation...cause outside of Him and His plan....I have nothing...it has yet to be in my timeframe, but I know God is working the details for this dream He birthed in my heart. Focusing on being obedient now as I ready for all that is ahead. Give me revelation God...show me what to do!

Reminders

As I prepared for my senior year I decided to do somehing new...set some goals. Not that I've never done this in the past, but I'm pretty sure this is the first time I took the time to write them down. I've always been told that when you write down your goals that you become more likely to accomplish the goals. With my last year of undergrad upon me I decided I want and need to get the most out of my time as I can. So down the goals went. Along with my goals I selected a verse that I will stand on as I move forward this school year and prepare for the things that are ahead:

"It is the Lord Who goes before you; He will [march] with you; He will not fail you or let you go or forsake you; [let there be no cowardice or flinching, but] fear not, neither become broken [in spirit--depressed, dismayed, and unnerved with alarm]." Deut 31:8

I love all that it says in the amplified version. There is much opportunity to become discouraged, overwhelmed and fearful. But that isn't what God desires for us! I get frustrated when I fail in this area and let my circumstances or emotions get the best of me. When I put more confidence in what the circumstances around me say instead of trusting that God will do EXACTLY what His word promises..He will go before me, He will not fail, He will not let me go...and because of that I can be confident and choose to not live in fear. As I studied this verse I was encouraged because there are a ton of scriptures where God says the same thing (often many times) to the people He used. I'm not the only one that needs to be reminded of what God promises and needs a check in my perspective! Look at all these scriptures:

Deut 31:3
Ex 33:14
Deut 31:6
Josh 1:5
1 Chron 28:20
Is 43:1-2
Rom 8:31

We all need to be reminded that God is for us and in the midst of "walking through it" it is God who will walk before us so we can walk through it.

So much is ahead...I'm excited, anxious and slightly terrified all at once, but am learning to choose to put it all in God's hands and let Him be there for me the way He promised.
